Climb The Mountain To Destiny!
By Angela Willingham

This year, I participated in my first Climb The Mountain To Conquer Cancer event. It is amazing all of the turns and curves we had to go around to get up that mountain. All of inclines and flat surfaces we had to go through. Because it was my first time I had no idea what to expect or how much farther we had to go. I began to compare that to our lives with Christ. We don't know when or where the end of the journey to our purpose is, but we have to keep climbing.

On the way up I saw a path that I had taken a couple times before. Once while taking that path I made it to the top and walked back around the road to get back down. That means I took another route to return to my starting point. The terrain going up seemed like more than I wanted to tackle coming back down, so I went another way. Once while taking that same path I quit before I made it to the top. This time I was above all of that. I was above my past failures, above that path. This was a new beginning, a new launching point and this time I made it to the top of the mountain, not just the end of the path.

When I thought we had reached the top, because we saw the buses that were supposed to take us back down the mountain, my adrenaline and the Holy Spirit told me, “you are not there yet, keep climbing”. We were not there yet, we had to keep climbing, there was another half mile to go to get to the top and the place of reward. The place where the cheerleaders were waiting with our You Made It stickers. The place where there was fruit, juice and water to quench our thirst and give us some additional sustenance. At the top was our reward. I did not know when I got to the top there was a surprise I was not even aware of, my three year old grandson was there with his mother. I did not get a chance to see him but he was there at the top of the mountain, in my place of purpose and destiny.

Life is like that. We have to keep climbing until we see the real finish line, the one that is marked by God's balloons and angelic cheerleaders. Don't stop at what looks like the end or you will miss it. We would have missed the fruit, drinks, cheerleaders and the badge that said you made it. We have to know that the enemy of our destiny and purpose wants us to miss it. He wants us to stop short of the top like I have done so many times in the past, like I did when I hiked the path before.

I was with a friend on the hike and when we got to the buses she said, “here are the buses” and she was heading for them. When she tells the story of what happened she says, but Angela kept going. I was to close to miss it. I don’t know if you understand what I am talking about, but we are to close to miss it. You have been striving for that thing for years and it is right there, don’t miss it. Keep climbing, no matter how bad it looks, no matter how different it looks from what God showed you in your time of prayer. Don’t settle for good enough and don’t settle for someone else’s purpose or end.

My business partner has an end that relates to more personal and group training opportunities, but that is not my end. My end results in people being fit from the inside out, spiritually, physically, relationally and emotionally. If I spend all my time helping him reach his end or purpose I will come up short of my own.

People may be physically fit, but what about the rest? Our purpose is different and I don’t want to miss mine because I got caught up with his. I have to keep climbing. I remember a friend once telling me that everyone is not going where you are going. It hurt when she said it, it sounded like an excuse for them to settle, then I heard what she was saying in the spirit. The purpose God has for them is not the same as the purpose He has for me. I have to keep climbing even if I am climbing by myself realizing the one I really need-God is with me.

I was talking to a friend the other day and he shared an analogy of being at the top of the mountain and taking a step of faith off the cliff. That is what God is calling for. He wants us to trust Him with each step we take, allowing him to grow our faith as we move forward. God can’t do anything with something that is not moving, so you have to keep moving forward, keep listening to His voice, keep trusting Him. He is faithful even when we are not. He is loving even when we are not. When you take that step off the cliff my friend said it’s like God makes a Lego bridge for you to walk on. All we have to do is walk in faith and obedience.

Don’t stop climbing the mountain to your destiny and purpose because the end is near and you don’t want to miss it.

When we finished the climb I was amazed by how great I felt. At the end we had actually climbed 6 miles. When we got back to the bottom it was about 10am. Still the beginning of the day and I felt so invigorated and motivated to move forward with the things God had shown me. I went to visit a new Christian bookstore in my neighborhood and spent some time talking to the owner. I was going to get my car washed because it had been a minute and God made it so convenient that some young people washed my car while I was in the bookstore. When you take a step know that He is waiting.

The week following the climb I ended up at home sick for a week with a bad flu. Many would have thought that was an attack of the enemy, but I saw it differently. I saw God resting His daughter for the next leg of the race. He knew it was going to take some work for me to finish the climb to my destiny. It was going to take some prayer and even more faith than I had ever demonstrated before. He knew what was ahead of me. People prayed for me and I rested. During my time of rest He also worked on me. He showed me some of the things I was complaining about really were not that bad it was my perspective that needed to change.

The following week I felt better and I attended a bible study and the scripture reference that jumped out at me came from Deuteronomy 1:6. Deuteronomy 1:6: “When we were at Mount Sinai, the Lord our God said to us, ‘You have stayed at this mountain long enough.”

It said we have walked around this mountain long enough. I wanted to scream and shout, because that is where I was. It was time to move forward on up the mountain. No more waiting, no more fear, no more guessing or speculating, no more trying to figure it out. It was time to take a step of faith and walk into my destiny, my Lego bridge.

At the church I was attending the next day the pastor started preaching about Expecting the Great and his scripture reference was Isaiah 54. It was all about destiny. It was all about moving to the place God has for you and fearing not. There is nothing to be afraid of when God is with you. When God is with you, you can say no to stuff that you would have been afraid to say no to because you were afraid you were going to miss something, but when God has you, you can fear not, because He knows the end from the beginning and He knows what is yours already. God knows that no matter what has happened you win, you are an over comer, you are His chosen. No matter what anyone says or what rejection you have experienced He has already purposed you, so keep climbing. Keep moving forward to your destiny. Even before you reach the top thank God.

 Encouragement From Queen-

Forgive me Lord, for my walk with you got a little side track
To some of my sinful engagements, I went back
Some may say what went wrong
It’s very simple; I was still a little weak where I thought I was strong
At first, he showed to be the perfect gentleman and my twisted mind took it as rejection
Therefore, I had to prove I could take him down and was determine to get affection
Then he started to give me the attention I longed for
Before I knew it, I had opened the door
The door of where the flesh is teased
I gave no thought to, if of my actions, you would be pleased
I didn’t ask you to order my steps and guide my way
Before as soon as I opened my eyes, I would inquire with you about my day
He said he didn’t understand what was happening what did I do to him, was I some kind of witch
Right then I knew that spirit of lust and seduction was still within and I needed to get rid of it
No, I’m not perfect and this shows me I can fall
However, I cannot stay down and realize this can happen to anyone at all
Therefore, no pity party here, I just know this is another area for deliverance, yes indeed
No matter how empty I feel inside right now, I know you are close and will meet my need

13 Reasons To Exercise
Let's face it, some days you just don't feel like exercising.

You get too busy, too stressed and quite simply too tired.

Here's a list of 13 of the top reasons to exercise. Pull out this list and read it when you're having one of those days.

1. To Prevent Disease
Exercise has been proven to reduce the risk of just about every single health problem known to man, from stroke to heart disease to cancer and osteoporosis. Exercise is also a great defense against type 2 diabetes, which is one of the most widely growing diseases of our time.

2. To Look Great
Exercise firms your body, improves posture and even makes your skin glow. Looking your best is a wonderful result of regular exercise.

3. To Lose Weight and Keep It Off
Exercise burns fat and prevents future fat storage. If you want to have a thinner, healthier body, exercise is the answer.

4. To Have More Energy
Anyone who exercises regularly will tell you that they are more energetic, less easily irritated and are more peaceful.

5. To Sleep Better
Exercise boosts energy levels, but also wears you out. It makes you feel more vibrant during the day and sleep better at night.

6. To Age Slower
Exercise is one of the most effective ways to fight aging. When you age your body loses muscle and bone, while the loss of both are drastically reduced with regular exercise. Exercise also helps reduce inflammation.

7. To Relieve Back Pain
In most cases, the best thing that you can do for back pain is to move and strengthen those muscles. Consult your physician or physical therapist for guidance.

8. To Ease Depression
Exercise has been proven to reduce depression – sometimes even as effectively as medication. Just chalk this up as yet another amazing benefit to exercise.

9. To Reduce Aches and Pains
By strengthening muscles around your damaged joints you're able to use exercise to reduce joint pain and overall aches. Always consult your physician before starting an exercise program, especially if you have chronic joint pain.

10. To Stay Mentally Sharp
Exercise has been shown to improve memory and other cognitive functions, and seems to have a protective effect against dementia. A Harvard University researcher called exercise "Miracle-Gro for the brain."

11. To Enjoy Your Lifestyle
Whatever it is that you love in life – your kids, travel, sports, fashion - it is all more enjoyable when experienced in a fit and healthy body. Exercise so that you are able to enjoy all the great things in life.

12. To Reduce Sick Days
People who exercise regularly are 50% less likely to call in sick to work. A regular exercise program reduces colds and upper respiratory infections.

13. To Boost Confidence
Being fit, feeling healthy and having energy are all building blocks to having great confidence. There is no better confidence booster than sticking with a regular exercise program.

Regular exercise gives you so many amazing benefits, as you've seen from the above list. Call or email me today to get started on the exercise program that will change your life forever.

 New Beginnings Team News-

Welcome Almarice Barnett-Beatty to the New Beginnings Life Group team. Join us on our Thursday night conference calls and hear her awesome insights about the word, it’s application and life.

What Have You Been Reading?
I just finished reading "Finding God's Path Through Your Trials" by Elizabeth George.
It is an awesome book, especially if you are in the middle of a trial. It took me months to read and I know that is because I had to get it. I can usually read a book in a matter of days or a week. This one was very important and a great confirmation to what God is doing in my life.

  • Trials are not punishments.
  • God loves you and allows trials to help you grow spiritually.
  • His grace is sufficient to get you through every situation.
  • When trials become too hard, God provides a way of escape.
  • Benefits such as patience, endurance and empathy come from trials.

You may not realize it but how we go through that thing really does matter. God in allowing us to go through it is building us up and preparing us for where He is taking us. Every step of the journey is necessary to help us become stable and enduring. I encourage you to read the book if you have time and study the steps. How are you going through your trials? I have to be honest I have not always done it the right way, but I am now experiencing a peace that I have never experienced before, because I came to the conclusion, finally that this is God's thing and I have to trust Him with it.

Check it out and encourage yourself.

Everyone needs a Judas. Between the betrayal-sold out, and the next dimension of the will of God for your life, you should experience being talked about, lied on, accused and judged- "The Pain of The Anointing." This is a prerequisite to to the fulfillment of your destiny. After this, take up your cross and press you way up Golgotha Hill. There, you will be crucified unto greatness and catapulted into another dimension. Believe it Quote from Apostle Jonetta Henry-McClure (facebook friend) he fulfillment of your destiny. After this, take up your cross and press you way up Golgotha Hill. There, you will be crucified unto greatness and catapulted into another dimension. Believe it!
