Welcome to the New Beginnings Health and Fitness Ministries family. We consider it a privilege to support your fitness efforts. We welcome your suggestions and ideas, so please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your experience with the monthly newsletter, website, weekly messages or message board more beneficial. We can be contacted at contactus@mynewtemple.org. It is our prayer to bring you words of encouragement and inspiration to motivate you to become fit physically, emotionally, spiritually and relationally. This is your New Beginning and we want to make it an awesome experience for you. As you begin this new adventure we are praying for you.

  Who are we?

New Beginnings is a wellness ministry established in 2003 by Carroll Roberts to offer a holistic approach to fitness that includes mind, body and spirit. A wellness ministry also serves to help people help themselves through physical and spiritual exercise and health education. At New Beginnings we believe good health is a gift from God and can be obtained by following biblical principles as we lead a balanced life physically, mentally, spiritually and relationally

  What’s New?-

NEW BEGINNNGS HEALTH AND FITNESS MINISTRY, INC., IS CELEBRATING NATIONAL PHYSICAL FITNESS MONTH BY SPONSORING
The 1st Annual Carolyn O’Neil Fitness Race

Check out the website and last months newsletter for race details, but for those of you who are ready to get started the race starts today.*

  The Race

On Your Marks

Get Set

Ready

Go! (The race is on)

It is our prayer that through your participation your church, group or organization will never be the same individually or corporately. If you have any questions or comments regarding the fitness race contact us on the message board or at contactus@mynewtemple.org.

Remember in 1 Corinthians 9:24 the bible says, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run your race that you may lay hold of the prize and make it yours.” The awesome thing about the fitness race is that everyone who participates wins. We are all winners. We win because our bodies will look and feel better. The 31 days will change your habits and the habits of the people or your team. Choose your team wisely if you have not done so already.

*If your team is not ready to start today that is okay. Your team can actually start any time during the race and participate, since the winner will be determined by average workout hours clocked.

  Workout Options

  • Walk with your co-workers or fellow students at lunch or after work
  • Start a walking club in your neighborhood
  • Go to the gym
  • Join an exercise or aerobics class
  • Start swimming or water aerobics in your backyard or neighbors pool (with their permission)
  • Check out some exercise videos and other exercise equipment
  • Check out “The Fitness Angel Show” it is still playing 24/7

  Journaling

How do you keep track of your successes and challenges? Start journaling. Journal what you eat and how you feel when you eat. Write whatever comes to your mind and then try to understand what makes you feel the way you do. Was it something that happened? Was it an experience you had yesterday, last year or as a child that you are revisiting? Whatever it is journaling your feelings, thoughts and actions will help you to get to the root of your eating triggers and your workout issues.

  National Day of Prayer-Thursday, May 4th 2006

Every year the National Day Of Prayer is observed on the first Thursday of May. This year’s observance will be held on Thursday, May 4th 2006. As a ministry we encourage prayer in all that we do whether, spiritually, physically, emotionally or relationally as a key to our personal and corporate success. If you have never observed the National Day of Prayer as a ministry we recommend that you participate in some way. If you are unable to participate in a group prayer activity-celebrate with the members of your team or alone by praying. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, the bible says to, “Pray without ceasing.” Take this day to pray about your personal needs, your family needs, the needs of the city, state and the nation.

If you are interested in writing a weekly article for New Beginnings please submit your written article to us at contactus@mynewtemple.org and we will review it and get back to you. Remember all of our articles deal with relational, physical, spiritual and emotional fitness from the Christian perspective.

New Beginnings Scriptures for May 2006

Ecclesiastes 9:11 says, “I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy; and those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.

  Our Mission Statement

Our Mission is to draw individuals to Jesus Christ through the Ministry of Health and Fitness and to see the Body of Christ become fit in all areas by providing tools and information to empower you to succeed.
New Beginnings is dedicated to helping you gain personal, spiritual, physical, mental and relational fitness by developing the courage and confidence necessary to set and achieve goals based on biblical principles.
Most people encounter difficulty reaching goals, sticking with a diet or completing a task by trying to make an outward change without having made any inward spiritual changes. In other words, all improvements in your life begin with a change in your mind and spirit.
